Nepal Footwear Industry Entrepreneurs Association Holds 12th AGM and 6th General Convention

Kathmandu - The Nepal Footwear Industry Entrepreneurs Association (NFIEA) successfully convened its 12th Annual General Meeting (AGM) along with the 6th General Convention today, bringing together footwear manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and industry stakeholders from across the country.
The dual event served as an important platform to review the association’s organizational progress, assess challenges facing Nepal’s footwear industry, and outline strategic priorities for the coming years. Discussions during the AGM focused on strengthening domestic production, improving product quality, enhancing competitiveness against imported footwear, and addressing policy-related concerns affecting small and medium-scale manufacturers.
Participants also emphasized the need for supportive government policies, access to modern technology, skilled human resources, and fair market practices to ensure sustainable growth of the domestic footwear sector. Industry representatives highlighted that Nepal’s footwear industry has significant potential to generate employment and contribute to import substitution if provided with an enabling business environment.
The General Convention further discussed leadership responsibilities, institutional strengthening, and collective efforts required to promote locally produced footwear in national and international markets. Delegates underscored the importance of unity among entrepreneurs to protect industry interests and adapt to changing market dynamics.

The Nepal Footwear Industry Entrepreneurs Association stated that it remains committed to advocating for the rights of footwear producers and working collaboratively with government agencies and stakeholders to promote a resilient, competitive, and sustainable footwear industry in Nepal.
