Buddha Air ATR Aircraft Skids Off Runway at Bhadrapur Airport; All On Board Safe

Bhadrapur, Jhapa - An aircraft operated by Buddha Air skidded off the runway while landing at Bhadrapur Airport on Sunday, causing damage to the aircraft but leaving all passengers and crew members unharmed, according to airline and police officials.
The aircraft, which had departed from Kathmandu for Bhadrapur, veered off the runway during the landing process. Buddha Air confirmed that there were 51 passengers and four crew members on board at the time of the incident, and all were reported safe.
Police officials stated that the aircraft went approximately 300 meters east of the runway, where it became stuck after sinking into the ground, resulting in damage to the plane. However, no injuries were reported.
Following the incident, a security deployment of around 70 police personnel was mobilized at the airport to secure the area, manage safety procedures, and support airport operations.
Airport authorities and relevant aviation bodies have initiated further assessments to determine the cause of the runway excursion. Flight operations at the airport may be subject to review depending on the outcome of safety inspections.

Buddha Air and airport officials have assured that passenger safety remains the highest priority and that necessary procedures were followed to ensure the safe evacuation and handling of the situation.
