Lalitpur, July 5, 2025 - In a groundbreaking move toward sustainable transportation and economic empowerment, eDrive Nepal and TapaiKoBazar Store, in partnership with global mobility platform Yango, have officially launched the “1000 Sworojgar Yojana” (1000 Self-Employment Scheme) at a special event held at Bhaisepati Plaza Parking Area, Lalitpur.
This initiative aims to provide 1,000 electric scooters on rent to individuals, enabling them to generate up to Rs. 18,000 in weekly income through eco-friendly transportation services such as delivery and ride-sharing.
Speaking at the launch, Sabin Bhattarai, CEO of eDrive Nepal, emphasized the project’s role in creating dignified employment opportunities within Nepal. “This is more than just a vehicle rental program—it’s a sustainable movement that empowers youth, reduces the need to seek foreign employment, and contributes to Nepal’s green energy transition,” he said.
Sushil Sangraula, Director of TapaiKoBazar, added, “Participants can engage in this scheme through three flexible models: renting e-scooters directly, becoming full-time riders, or investing in e-scooters for income generation.”
Key Highlights of the Project:
Affordable access to e-scooters on rent
Earning potential of up to Rs. 18,000 weekly
100% Nepali investment
Support from Yango’s ride-booking platform
Promotes use of clean, hydroelectric-powered transport
Yango’s technological integration will help optimize ride-matching, tracking, and earnings, ensuring maximum benefit to participants and commuters alike.
A Step Toward Sustainable Development
This initiative is expected to reshape urban transport by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and encouraging the use of Nepal’s abundant hydroelectric power. The project aligns with national goals to advance electric mobility, reduce carbon emissions, and create employment through innovation.
The event concluded with a call for interested individuals, particularly youth, to join the movement and take part in building a cleaner, self-reliant Nepal.
