Lalitpur, June 18: The Koshi Province Development Dialogue pre-event concluded successfully, laying the groundwork for a landmark discussion on sustainable and inclusive development in Koshi Province. The event, held in Lalitpur, was organized by the Koshi Provincial Planning Commission and inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Koshi Province.
The gathering brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including representatives from diplomatic missions, donor communities, international and national NGOs, and civil society organizations. The event was a collaborative effort, supported by the Association of International NGOs in Nepal (AIN) and the NGO Federation of Nepal, with coordination led by Rakesh Karna, Steering Committee Lead for Koshi Province and Country Director of dZi Foundation.
The discussions centered on addressing Koshi Province’s socio-economic challenges while leveraging its potential in agriculture, tourism, and hydropower. Participants emphasized the need for concerted efforts to drive sustainable development and inclusivity in the province.
Dr. SP Kalaunee, Chair of AIN and Country Director of Blink Now Foundation, along with leaders from organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Save the Children, Helvetas, and FairMed, among others, expressed their commitment to making the upcoming Koshi Development Dialogue a success.
The pre-event concluded with a unanimous commitment to ensure the success of the main event, scheduled for July in Biratnagar. This dialogue aims to serve as a platform for fostering partnerships and aligning strategies to accelerate the development trajectory of Koshi Province.
This initiative reflects the collaborative spirit required to tackle pressing regional challenges and underscores the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement in achieving sustainable progress.
