Dhading, June 14, 2025:
Residents of Nilkantha-5 and Galchhi-1 have taken a commendable initiative to address the challenges posed by annual flooding at Koshi Khola Jyampire, which has long disrupted daily commutes. In a collective effort, the locals have started constructing a temporary wooden bridge (locally known as phadke).
On the first day of the initiative, approximately 65 individuals gathered to lay the foundations for the bridge on both sides of the river. According to community members, two critical wooden planks are yet to be brought to complete the construction.
The work is being carried out under the motto, "Social service is indeed a duty." The locals have appealed for more support and participation, urging community members to join the effort tomorrow morning at 6 AM to expedite the completion of this much-needed project.
This grassroots endeavor showcases the power of community-driven solutions to tackle local challenges, providing an example of resilience and collective action in the face of natural adversities.
