Kathmandu, April 20, 2025 – A five-day workshop focusing on enhancing research grant writing skills for faculty members and researchers concluded today at CERID Hall, Balkhu. Organized by the Research Centre for Educational Innovation and Development (CERID) under Tribhuvan University, the event was supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.

The workshop, held from April 16 to 20, aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to secure funding for impactful academic and scientific research. Attendees included academicians, scholars, and professionals representing various disciplines, showcasing the event's inclusive and interdisciplinary approach.

During the workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions led by experts in the field of research and grant acquisition. Key topics covered included crafting compelling grant proposals, identifying suitable funding sources, and understanding the evaluation criteria used by grant-giving organizations.

"This workshop was an excellent platform for fostering collaboration and sharing best practices in research grant writing," remarked one of the facilitators. "We are confident that the skills learned here will significantly benefit Nepal's research community and contribute to advancements in various academic and scientific domains."

The University Grants Commission's support underscored its commitment to strengthening research capabilities in Nepal's higher education sector. Through initiatives like this, CERID and UGC aim to encourage innovation and development, aligning with national priorities and global standards.

Such initiatives are pivotal in bridging the gap between researchers and funding opportunities, ensuring that critical research addressing environmental, developmental, and socio-economic challenges receives the necessary support.
