Kathmandu – A Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Himalayan Sustainability is now open for enrollment, offering an exceptional opportunity to explore sustainable development in the Himalayan region. The course features Dr. Ram Kumar Phuyal, a prominent economist and former member of Nepal’s National Planning Commission, renowned for his expertise in economic policies and climate resilience planning.
Developed under the ForHimSDG Project, the MOOC integrates 30 hours of self-paced learning and 15 hours of interactive activities, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of sustainability challenges and solutions in the Himalayas. Participants will gain insights into climate action, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and strategies for fostering economic development while preserving fragile ecosystems.
The course is a collaborative effort funded by leading organizations and supported by the Himalayan University Consortium (HUC). Produced by StoryCycle, it is tailored to equip learners with actionable knowledge to address pressing environmental and developmental issues.
