Lamjung, Nepal – A joint team comprising officials from the concerned authority and geologists from the Department of Mines and Geology has successfully concluded a comprehensive geological study of landslides in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality and Besisahar Municipality.

The study was initiated in response to recurring landslides in these areas, which have raised concerns about the safety of local communities and infrastructure. The team conducted detailed field surveys to assess the causes, scale, and potential risks associated with the landslides. Their findings are expected to provide critical insights for disaster risk management and mitigation strategies.

Local officials emphasized the importance of such studies in enhancing community resilience and guiding development planning in geologically sensitive regions like Lamjung. The collaboration between the local authority and geological experts demonstrates a proactive approach to addressing the challenges posed by natural hazards in the region.

The detailed report from the study is expected to be published soon, offering recommendations for reducing future risks and ensuring sustainable development practices.
