Kathmandu, Nepal - Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA), Nepal’s first and only dedicated infrastructure development bank, successfully concluded its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kathmandu today.
Established in 2018 under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, NIFRA aims to encourage private-sector participation and mobilise long-term capital for the development of large-scale, sustainable infrastructure projects across Nepal.
The bank focuses on key sectors essential to the country’s economic growth and sustainable development, including energy, transportation, information technology, healthcare and tourism.
The AGM addressed several key agenda items, including the financial highlights for fiscal year 2082/83, the appointment of an auditor, approval of a 5.2632% cash dividend, and approval concerning the tenure of directors’ appointments.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the bank’s financial performance for the fiscal year and address important corporate governance and shareholder-related matters.
As Nepal continues to pursue infrastructure development and economic transformation, NIFRA’s mandate to facilitate long-term investment in strategic infrastructure sectors remains important to supporting sustainable growth and strengthening the country’s development financing landscape.
Ecosphere News will continue to follow developments in Nepal’s infrastructure financing sector and its contribution to sustainable development.
