Kathmandu, July 1 - The 31.92 MW Upper Mewa Khola Hydropower Project has reached a significant construction milestone with the successful breakthrough of the access tunnel from the inlet side, marking steady progress in the development of one of eastern Nepal's important hydropower projects.
According to an announcement shared by Man Dream Construction Pvt. Ltd., the access tunnel breakthrough reflects the successful completion of a critical stage of underground civil works. The company congratulated the entire project team for their dedication, technical expertise, and commitment in achieving the milestone safely and efficiently.
Tunnel breakthrough is regarded as one of the most important engineering achievements in hydropower construction, as it confirms that excavation has successfully connected the planned underground alignment. This milestone enables contractors to advance to the next phases of construction, including additional underground works, installation of electro-mechanical equipment, and other project infrastructure.
