Kathmandu, Nepal - The Association of International NGOs in Nepal (AIN) has announced its newly elected Steering Committee for 2026, bringing together experienced leaders from the international development and humanitarian sectors operating in Nepal.
The newly elected office bearers include Sanjay Karki, Country Director of Swisscontact Nepal, as Chairperson; Shakeb Nabi, Country Director of Welthungerhilfe Nepal, as Vice Chairperson; and Sujeeta Mathema, Executive Director of ActionAid Nepal, as Treasurer.
The Steering Committee also comprises distinguished representatives from various international organizations working in Nepal. The elected members are Dr. Jonathan Gribbin (CEO, INF International), Dr. Lotta Gammelin (Country Director, FELM), Dr. Ojaswi Acharya (Action Contre La Faim - ACF), Pooja Sharma (Country Director, Practical Action), Dr. Samjhana Bista (Country Director, DanChurchAid), Simone Di Vicenz (Country Director, People in Need), Sudarshan Neupane (Country Director, WaterAid Nepal), and Tara Chettry (Country Director, Save the Children).
The newly formed Steering Committee is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening collaboration among international non-governmental organizations, enhancing policy dialogue, and supporting Nepal’s development, humanitarian, and social progress initiatives.
AIN serves as a common platform for international NGOs operating in Nepal, fostering cooperation, coordination, and partnership among member organizations and stakeholders. The election of the new leadership reflects the continued commitment of the international development community to contribute effectively to Nepal’s sustainable development goals.
