Kathmandu, Nepal - The closing ceremony of a four-day Training Program on Research Methods for officials of the Federal Parliament Secretariat was successfully held yesterday at Araniko Hall, marking the culmination of an intensive capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening research and analytical competencies within parliamentary functions.
Organized with the support of the Nepal Administrative Staff College and the Centre for Research and Development, the program brought together government officials in a collaborative learning environment focused on enhancing evidence-based decision-making.
Over the four-day period, participants engaged in comprehensive sessions covering essential components of research methodology. The training provided a strong foundation in literature review techniques, an in-depth understanding of various research designs, and practical exposure to both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Emphasis was also placed on effective report writing, equipping participants with the skills to present findings in a clear, structured, and impactful manner.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Niraj Dahal expressed sincere appreciation to the organizing institutions for delivering a meaningful and practical learning experience. He noted that the program significantly enhanced participants’ confidence and competence in conducting research relevant to parliamentary responsibilities.
Similarly, Executive Director Ram Sharan Pudasaini congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the training. Acknowledging their active engagement and enthusiasm, he reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to continuing such capacity-building initiatives and indicated openness to organizing similar programs tailored to future needs.
The program concluded on a positive note, with participants reflecting on the knowledge gained and expressing appreciation for the practical relevance of the sessions. The initiative is expected to contribute to strengthening research-informed policymaking and institutional effectiveness within Nepal’s parliamentary system.
