Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal Pledges Adequate Resources for Elections, Calls for Stronger Economic Focus

Kathmandu - Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensure that upcoming elections are conducted smoothly, stating that the necessary financial and logistical resources will be fully provided.
Speaking at the Nepal Tourism Seminar organized by the Nepal Tourism Board in collaboration with Parishuchak Media, the minister highlighted that the government’s immediate priority is to guarantee a successful electoral process while also steering the country toward stronger economic stability.
Addressing participants from the tourism sector, policymakers, and media representatives, Khanal stressed that Nepal has now reached a stage where national attention must shift more decisively toward economic development. According to him, prolonged debates surrounding political instability have hindered progress, and overcoming this challenge remains one of the government’s most pressing tasks.
The finance minister also acknowledged that earlier commitments to provide industry-level facilities and support to Nepal’s tourism sector have not yet been fully realized. Tourism, one of Nepal’s most important economic pillars, requires consistent policy implementation, improved infrastructure, and investment-friendly measures to unlock its full potential, he noted.
Khanal further informed that the government has already initiated several policy-level measures aimed at strengthening the national economy. These initiatives are intended to promote economic growth, create opportunities for key sectors such as tourism, and build greater confidence among investors and stakeholders.
The remarks come at a time when Nepal is seeking to balance political processes with economic recovery and long-term development. Experts attending the seminar emphasized that stable governance, clear policies, and sustained support for tourism could significantly contribute to the country’s broader economic progress.FB_IMG_1771591408244-1771591549.jpg

As Nepal continues to position itself as a major destination for global travelers, the alignment between political stability, economic policy, and tourism development is increasingly seen as essential for sustainable national growth.
