Bangkok, Thailand
The Asia-Pacific region is preparing for one of its most significant environmental gatherings of the year as Clean Air Week 2025 is set to take place from 24–28 November 2025 at The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok, in a hybrid format to ensure broad international participation.
Organized by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with key regional and global partners, the week-long event aims to accelerate coordinated clean air strategies at a time when pollution remains one of the region’s most pressing public-health and development challenges.
Clean Air Week 2025 will bring together government representatives, technical experts, private-sector actors, researchers, and civil society organizations to foster dialogue and drive evidence-based solutions. The programme features high-level policy discussions, scientific and technical sessions, and regional collaboration platforms designed to support countries in adopting scalable and effective air quality interventions.
According to UNEP and its partner agencies, the event will focus on strengthening policy coherence, improving monitoring and data systems, and advancing investment in clean transport, sustainable energy, waste management, and nature-based solutions. Emphasis will also be placed on regional cooperation-critical for addressing transboundary pollution that affects millions across South and Southeast Asia.
Participants will also review progress under global commitments, including the UN General Assembly resolution on the Right to Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment, and explore the latest innovations in clean air technologies and community-centred approaches.
Clean Air Week 2025 is supported by a broad coalition of organizations including United Nations ESCAP, United Nations Thailand, Asian Institute of Technology, World Health Organization (WHO), Clean Air Asia, ICIMOD, Asian Development Bank, and Breathe Cities, reflecting the multi-sectoral nature of the clean air agenda.
Registration is open for interested stakeholders, with virtual participation available to ensure accessibility across the region.
As air pollution continues to impact public health, climate resilience, and economic development, Clean Air Week 2025 is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping collaborative pathways for cleaner air and healthier communities throughout the Asia-Pacific.
