Kathmandu, Nepal – Thirty aspiring women entrepreneurs from Nepal have successfully completed the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) bootcamp, a transformative initiative supported by the U.S. government. Held over three dynamic days, the program provided participants with crucial business insights and practical tools to foster innovation, financial acumen, and collaboration between Nepal and the United States.
The bootcamp, organized in partnership with Impact Initiative Nepal and powered by the Najafi 100 Million Learners initiative, highlighted the growing role of women entrepreneurs in Nepal’s economic landscape. Participants delved into advanced topics such as leveraging artificial intelligence for business, scaling enterprises sustainably, and navigating global partnerships.
At the closing ceremony, U.S. Embassy Cultural Affairs Officer Erica Alexander celebrated the achievements of the participants, calling them “catalysts for shared prosperity.” She emphasized the broader economic benefits of empowering women to lead and innovate in a globalized economy.
The journey doesn’t end with the bootcamp. The entrepreneurs are set to embark on a mentorship phase, guided by seasoned industry professionals and the American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal). This stage aims to refine their strategic approaches, enhance operational sustainability, and prepare them for global market challenges.
By equipping these women with robust entrepreneurial skills, the AWE program contributes to strengthening Nepal’s economy and fostering job creation. Furthermore, it opens avenues for American businesses to invest in Nepal’s emerging market, creating opportunities for cross-border partnerships and shared growth.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to advancing global economic collaboration and ensuring that women play a central role in shaping the future of entrepreneurship in Nepal and beyond.
