Kathmandu, Nepal – A groundbreaking one-day conference focused on advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education concluded with remarkable success, drawing over 180 mathematics and science teachers from more than 35 schools across the region. The event was centered around the integration of TI-Nspire handheld computers, graphics calculators, and scientific instruments into teaching methodologies.

The conference featured a vibrant agenda, including four interactive workshops and sixteen expert-led presentations. These sessions demonstrated innovative ways to simplify abstract mathematical and scientific concepts, bridging theory with practical, real-world applications. Participants actively engaged in discussions and hands-on learning experiences, leaving with a deeper understanding of how to harness technology to enrich their classrooms.

Recognizing excellence in participation and innovation, the organizers awarded two schools with grand prizes for their outstanding contributions during the conference. The event also featured a keynote address by Dr. Marian V. Prince, whose insights on educational technology resonated deeply with the audience.

“By leveraging tools like TI-Nspire, educators can inspire a new generation of learners equipped with the skills to tackle real-world challenges,” said Dr. Prince during her keynote address.

The conference underscored the growing importance of equipping teachers with technological resources and pedagogical insights to meet the evolving demands of education in the 21st century. With the collaborative efforts of keynote speakers, presenters, volunteers, and organizing partners, the program exemplified the transformative potential of technology in shaping future-ready learners.

As the role of technology in education continues to expand, events like this reaffirm the commitment of educators to stay at the forefront of teaching innovation. The conference was hosted by the Kathmandu University School of Education, which remains a pioneer in fostering academic excellence through technology-driven initiatives.
