Writing Tripartite Agreement Signed to Streamline Driving Licence Printing and Delivery in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal - A tripartite agreement has been signed among the Department of Transport Management, Department of Postal Services, and Security Printing Centre to make the issuance, printing and distribution of driving licences more systematic, efficient and convenient for service recipients.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. Under the new arrangement, data of driving licences issued through the Electronic Driving Licence and Vehicle Registration System (EDLVRS), operated by the Department of Transport Management, will be transferred directly to the system of the Security Printing Centre.
The Security Printing Centre will then print the licences based on the data received through the system, creating a more integrated process between licence issuance and printing.
The agreement also aims to improve the distribution of licences after printing. Licences issued through the EDLVRS can be distributed to the concerned provincial offices or delivered directly to service recipients at addresses of their choice.
The arrangement is expected to help make the overall driving licence service more organized and accessible by strengthening coordination among the three government agencies and linking digital licence data with the printing and delivery processes.
The initiative represents a step toward improving public service delivery through greater use of digital systems and better institutional coordination in Nepal's transport management sector.
