An International Business Conference focusing on “Business Opportunities in Greece” was successfully held in Kathmandu, bringing together diplomats, business leaders, and representatives of Nepal-Greece friendship organizations to explore cross-border investment, trade, and cooperation prospects.
The conference, organized with the involvement of Greece-Nepal Friendship & Cultural Association and related stakeholders, aimed to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Nepal and Greece. The event took place at Royal Boutique Hotel Airport, and drew participation from entrepreneurs, policy influencers, and members of the diplomatic and business community.
Eminent personalities from Nepal and Greece, including Dr. Latif Darwish, Business Development Advisor and Professor; Mr. Manoj Newa Khadgi, President of the Nepal-Greece Friendship and Cultural Association; Mr. Krishna Pokharel, President of the Greece-Nepal Friendship and Cultural Association; and Mr. Suresh Baral, President of the District Hotel Association, Kathmandu, offered in-depth insights into pressing contemporary issues, drawing on perspectives from both countries.
According to the conference backdrop and proceedings, the central theme emphasized that business should create impact beyond profit, underlining sustainable cooperation, mutual growth, and long-term partnerships. Speakers discussed Greece’s emerging opportunities in sectors such as tourism, hospitality, trade, logistics, education, and foreign investment, while also highlighting Nepal’s growing interest in accessing European markets.
The panel featured distinguished speakers, including international and Nepali representatives, who shared insights on investment climates, regulatory frameworks, and practical pathways for Nepali entrepreneurs seeking entry into the Greek and wider European business environment. Discussions also touched upon labor mobility, skill exchange, and cultural collaboration as complementary pillars of economic engagement.
Participants noted that Greece’s strategic location as a gateway to Europe, combined with Nepal’s young workforce and expanding private sector, presents significant scope for bilateral cooperation. The conference further served as a networking platform, enabling direct interaction between business communities and institutional representatives.
Organizers expressed optimism that such dialogue-oriented programs would help translate interest into concrete partnerships and contribute to strengthening Nepal-Greece relations at both economic and people-to-people levels.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to continue dialogue, promote ethical and sustainable business practices, and explore collaborative opportunities that benefit both nations.
