Itahari, Nepal – A massive fire broke out at the Central Plaza in Itahari on Wednesday, causing significant damage to the commercial complex. The fire, which started in the morning, quickly spread across multiple floors of the building, including Hotel Verandah and the QFX Cinemas.

Emergency services, including several fire engines, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Firefighters battled the flames for hours while helicopters were deployed to assist in the rescue operations and control the blaze from above. Thick smoke and flames engulfed the upper floors, posing challenges for the rescue teams.

A total of 12 fire engines, 322 security personnel, and an army helicopter have been deployed to tackle the fire at Central Plaza in Itahari. Eleven people have been rescued so far, and the rescue operations are still ongoing.

Eyewitnesses reported panic among those inside the building as the fire rapidly spread. Many occupants were evacuated safely, though the extent of casualties, if any, remains unconfirmed.

Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the fire. A detailed investigation will follow to assess the damages and identify potential safety lapses.

The incident has raised concerns about fire safety preparedness in urban centers like Itahari. More updates will follow as the story develops.
