  • Incessant Rainfall Inundates Malika Settlement in Dhangadhi
Incessant Rainfall Inundates Malika Settlement in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi, Nepal - Continuous rainfall has inundated the Malika settlement in Ward No. 2 of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City, Kailali, affecting residential areas and surrounding land as monsoon rains continue across western Nepal.
The flooding has left large sections of the settlement submerged, with standing water surrounding homes, agricultural land, and local infrastructure. The image from the area shows floodwaters spreading across low-lying sections of the community, highlighting the vulnerability of settlements to prolonged rainfall.
Dhangadhi and other parts of Kailali have experienced recurring inundation during the monsoon season due to persistent rainfall, inadequate drainage systems, and the area's low-lying terrain. Similar incidents in previous years have disrupted daily life, damaged property, and increased the risk of waterborne diseases.
Local authorities continue to monitor the situation as rainfall persists, while residents remain on alert for any further rise in water levels. Officials have urged people living in flood-prone areas to exercise caution and follow safety advisories issued by disaster management agencies.
