Kathmandu, Nepal - A pivotal training program focusing on Fair and Ethical Recruitment was recently co-organized by the Ministry of Labour, Employment & Social Security (MoLESS) and GIZ MEG Nepal. This initiative aimed to enhance migration governance and strengthen regulatory frameworks to ensure ethical recruitment practices in Nepal.
The event, under the framework of the Global Program "Shaping Development-Oriented Migration" (Migration entwicklungspolitisch gestalten, MEG), brought together a diverse group of stakeholders. These included government officials, representatives from recruitment agencies, private sector players, civil society groups, migrant advisory bodies such as Employment Service Centers (ESCs), Migrant Resource Centers (MRCs), Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) institutes, and the media.

The interactive discussions during the training highlighted critical regulatory challenges in the recruitment process and identified actionable strategies to address them.
